Try-a-Job
is an annual 1-day event designed to give sudents (Year 9 in mainstream
secondary schools & Year 9 and above on special schools) a taste
of the 'hands on' skills required in different types of work.
Each student
attends three one-hour workshops run by employers, college lecturers
and community groups. The range of workshops included food preparation,
floristry, childcare, media editing, sports and First Aid.
Students choose
in advance which workshops they want to attend as part of their
Careers Education and Guidance programme and the whole process is
backed up by learning materials and teacher guidance notes produced
and distributed by the Enfield EBP.
If your school
is interested in participating in Try-a-Job please contact the Work
Related Learning Team at the Enfield EBP.
Likewise, if
your company would like to know more about running a workshop at
the next Try-a-Job, please contact
us by email
or call us on 020 8443 2114.
